Those of you basketball fans expecting an encore from Ivan Drago (err, Joonas Suotamo) this winter should prepare yourselves for disappointment: He’s graduating in December.
Joonas will be going home to his native Finland to do his required military service and from there plans to pursue a film career (in Hollywood, no less). In fact, Joonas already has some work posted on YouTube that shows he’s ready to create the next Saving Private Ryan.
Joonas’ departure also puts an abrupt end to the “European Superstars” recruiting experiment conducted back in 2005 by the coaching staff, and with that being said, here’s a little pictoral tribute to one of the greatest recruiting-jobs in Penn State basketball history:
