Tonight’s video takes us back to 1998 and Tennessee’s improbable run to the national championship, thanks in large part to Arkansas QB Clint Stoerner, who with less than two minutes to play in the game and his team nursing a two-point lead, managed to trip over his center’s foot and fumble the ball away. This in turn, led to Travis Henry running his way to the game-winning touchdown. I remember watching this game in stunned disbelief when it first happened and every subsequent viewing on either ESPN Classic or YouTube still gives me chills.
This video also reminds me of how stupid ESPN is for deciding to move Sean McDonough (the announcer in the clip below) to their Friday night announcing team for “Nobody-Cares-About-Us” (NCAU) conference games.
